I stand at the door--

Will you open?

I've been knocking through the night--

Listening, listening,

On this side.

You stand at the door--

Will you open?

You've been sobbing through the night--

Calling, calling,

On that side.

No latch on the door

I can open--

And I couldn't if I tried--

Waiting, waiting

For My child.

No light through the door

You won't open--

Choosing darkness through the night--

Hiding, hiding,

From My sight.

You fall to the floor--

The door opens--

Your heart breaks through stubborn night--

Weeping, weeping,

At My side.

For I am the Door

And I open

To the touch of sin-sick sight--

Reaching, reaching

For the Light.
