My Answers to Autumn's Questions are These:
One: What is your favorite TV show?
Well, before I grew up, it was probably the Flintstones. I loved how Fred ran the car with his bare feet. I've never been able to do that. No, really, maybe it was The Munsters. I loved being scared in a funny way. Now, it's probably On Balance with Leland Vittert on NewsNation. He's the most honest, unbiased newscaster I know. Or probably Leave it to Beaver. That show never gets old. (I can't pick just one!)
Two: If you had to choose to live in one part of the world for the rest of your life, where would it be?
Well, it would be wherever I am because I couldn't live anywhere I wasn't. Actually, it would be
in Tennessee right where I am now.
Three: Would you rather visit the Mariana Trench or the moon?
Since I don't know what the Mariana Trench is (oh, wait--isn't that the deepest part of the ocean?) I guess I'll say, "The moon." I like his mysterious Mona Lisa smile. Plus, it would be really cool to see Earth from outer space!
Four: If you had to choose between books and writing for the rest of your life, which would it be?
Oh, boy, that's a tough one, since I hope to write a book one day, and I wouldn't be able to read what I've written, to know if it was any good. And I could never choose my own writing over reading the Bible, so I'll have to say I would choose books!
Five: What is your favorite book of the Bible?
Oh, wow, another tough one! I love the Book of Job. Even though it is tragic, it teaches us that the deepest tragedy turns into triumph in the hand of God. It also teaches us never to judge anything before its time. One lifetime is too short to contain the fulfillment of all God's plans.
Six: What was/is your favorite topic in school?
Math. No, really, I loved geometry. But I didn't love it more than English, of course. In English class, my favorite "topic" was probably something to do with King Henry VIII. I can still see my English teacher acting him out in his gigantic torpor (the king's, that is, not my teacher's)! British history and literature in general have always totally fascinated me!
Seven: If you could go back to one famous time in history (The Revolutionary War, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony opening night, etc.), what would it be?
Well, that's a really neat question because, if I went back to the Revolutionary War, I might meet my great-great-great-great-great? Grandpa Shue, who fought in it. I would tell him not to worry; everything turned out all right, and he was fighting for me! And that I appreciate with all my heart everything he did!
Eight: What is your favorite animal?
Probably the skunk living under my deck that the pest guy caught in his wire cage. No, I love toy poodles, but I also love German Shepherds. I miss my precious little Cocoa, and we owned a German Shepherd named Sheba when I was growing up. Both were amazing dogs. I love watching tamed otter videos, but I think it's a sin to put a lovely wild animal like that on a dog leash and waltz around with it in the park, when it wants to be rolling around in the ocean!
Nine: Are you an early bird or a night owl?
Oh, boy. Confession is good for the soul. If I counted the times my neighbor has called me the next day, screeching, "What in the world (translation) were you doing with your light on at 2:00 in the morning?" I'd be rich. I love reading in bed on the weekends when no one can bother me. It is also one of the only times I can actually relax. But, nowadays, I usually just fall asleep with my light on. Maybe I need a better book!
Ten: What is in your dream room?
Ooh! That's a fun one, too! It would have built-in bookcases on either side of a Federal-style fireplace, a quaint old picture on the mantel, stuffed chairs with a braid rug on a hardwood floor, and lots and lots of books and house plants. It would have a bay window on the front wall with a cozy window seat, and, of course, a piano tucked into another light-filled corner where the birds could sing along through the open window if they wanted.
Eleven: Rather similar to Question 7, what is one past famous person that you would like to meet?
I would like to meet Abraham Lincoln and give him a chance to live out the rest of his life, making
America great again after he saved the Union. I would ask him how many times he fell asleep on his knees praying for our nation and whether or not he thinks his prayers have been answered.
I would also tell him "Thank you!" from the bottom of my heart. He did what no other American President has ever done, and that's why Bill O'Reilly calls him the greatest President America has ever had!
My questions:
What was one time you just could not stop giggling?
Describe an awkward hairdo or outfit (yours or someone else's).
What is your favorite hymn, and why?
If you could swap places with one of your living relatives, who would it be, and why?
If you had the chance to interview one of your deceased ancestors, who would it be, and why?
What do you think is more fun, watching a movie with the family or playing a game?
What is your least favorite song?
Who do you think is the most overrated actor?
What is one of the best-kept secrets of homeschooling?
Would you rather write a poem or a short story?
If you had to be a middle child, what do you think it would be like?
