We so often hear the sound of a thought without thinking.
God is God.
And we rush right on, wanting something more.
There is no more.
We hear words without listening.
God is holy.
Deaf to truth we have heard so many times,
we are always looking for better ways of speaking,
pretty nuances that don't offend,
breaking truth into smaller and smaller pebbles
that fail to stone deception when they hit.
Soft silence.
Needing to let boulders be boulders,
crashing down the mountainside alone,
let us refuse to chip away at the enormity of simple truth--
and wait to listen to what is really said.
God is God.
Full stop.
God is holy.
Bow the knee.
His greatness is unsearchable.
Wait at least five minutes.
We are wretches without Him.
Don't move.
The worst life throws at us is meaningful in Him.
Now,
having thought,
it's time to blow the dandelion gone to seed. Just watch each seed float
away to plant a separate thought--
so soft the truth will land,
like dew,
after all.
The still, small Voice of Truth.
The simplest thoughts require the deepest thinking,
for we ourselves must do the work to break them down.
The simplest thoughts require the deepest thinking,
for we ourselves must do the work to break them down.
I like this; it's very true.
